Mazda 100 Year Anniversary

World-renowned Japanese automotive brand.

Mazda celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020 and to mark the occasion, the agency have worked on a 3d animated video to highlight  Mazda’s achievement in which has been accomplished in 100 years time.

The Task:
To create a video that illustrates the history of Mazda in an engaging and informative way while staying true to the brand personality.

The Direction:
Employing a horizontal technique when shooting worked best to create a storytelling nature, with 3D video animation to infuse a modern aesthetic.


The Process:

First, we thoroughly research the history of Mazda; diving into its’ beginnings, how it evolved, and the influence of Japanese history on the brand. It was important to look into the technologies that Mazda pioneered, along with its future vision for automotive innovation. Several iconic car models were chosen to be featured in the video, such as the Mazda 3 and the Mazda CX-9, among others. The English script was then developed based on the agreed-upon, direction, after which it underwent several rounds of editing, proofreading, and fine-tuning, ensuring the script was aligned with the objective, brand voice, and brand tone.


Our graphic design department conceptualized and executed the art direction, and carried out the compositing, and retouching. Each frame was designed with specific elements that were relevant to the storyline and script, which added more depth to the video and helped transition the video from idea to reality.

Then the video was then passed on to our animator and motion graphics artist, who brought the video to life through animation, transitions, and sound effects; ensuring,  that the end result was a compelling and engaging video. The last layer was adding the voice-over to tell this captivating story about this giant of the global automotive industry.
